Lillevik is a comfortable, cozy and completely remodelled vacation home in a fantastic location on Gimsøy in the Lofoten islands – in the arctic.
Lillevik is the perfect base for exploring the Lofoten islands – it is quiet, but central: Gimsøy is «in the middle» of Lofoten, between local towns Svolvær and Leknes, with most sights and activities just a short drive away. Gimsøy is an island, connected to the main road E10 runs with two bridges.
Gimsøya has superb conditions for watching the northern lights and the midnight sun: There is open sea towards north, and nothing to block the view – and no light pollution. Lillevik's large panorama windows give a great view of the northern lights and the midnight sun – and also sea eagles, seals, otter, porpoises (dolphins), foxes, owls and maybe a weasel.
Even Lofoten locals travel to Gimsøy to get the best conditions and avoid the crowds in the high season. At Lillevik you can experience this right where you live.
Gimsøy, and especially this part, is exceptionally quiet, even for Lofoten. Less than 200 people live at Gimsøy, and a large part of the island is a nature reserve. There are hardly any cars driving on the road past the house – no need to worry about traffic. The house’s plot is 92,000 square meters (23 acres), and the private beach is just 100 meters (109 yards) from the house.
Everything you need is nearby: Local towns Henningsvær, Svolvær and Leknes are a 30-40 minute drive away. It's 7 kilometers (4 miles) to Gimsøy Landhandel with groceries, café and gas station, 1.5 km to the long, white sandy beach at Hov. Unstad (50 min), Uttakleiv (1h15), Nusfjord (1h15) and Reine (1h50) is within easy driving distance. It's a 30 minute hike up to the summit of the mountain Hoven (368 m) with an impressive 360° view.
The house was built in the 1960’s and has gone through an extensive two-year remodelling in 2018-2020. In practice, the house has been completely rebuilt. The original atmosphere is preserved, updated to modern standards. The kitchen is fully equipped with top of the line appliances, the bathrooms are modern and comfortable, and all beds are of good quality. Please see the reviews to see why Lillevik is so popular.
The Lofoten islands cover a large area, and exploring Lofoten does requires some local traveling. Use Lillevik as your base and your home away from home: Spend your time exploring Lofoten, not moving in and out of houses.

Beautiful home
We had such a lovely time at Lillevik. It was our favourite accommodation throughout our time in Norway and we thoroughly enjoyed the thoughtful touches that made the place feel like such a lovely getaway. It was clean, well-decorated, well lit and had such spectacular views. We would absolutely love to come back again someday.
Stunning
Beautiful house in a stunning location. We had a lovely and comfortable stay at lillevik. The views are breathtaking and forever changing due to the weather. The house is beautifully decorated and modernised, but keeps its charm. We came for the northern lights and it would be a great place for this due to little light pollution and a stunning backdrop. Sadly the poor weather had other ideas on our week there, but if you’re lucky it could be amazing. Would love to come back.
Wonderful Lillevik
We had a wonderful time at Lillevik. There is everything you might need and we loved to sit in the livingroom and enyoy the view. Gimsoy is very pretty and quiet, not as crowed as other parts on the Lofoten. We would love to come back sometime!
Beautiful Location
Gimsoy is my favourite island. Quietly beautiful. This house is perfectly placed and has everything you need. The view is forever changing with the weather. Sit in the lounge and look out for the eagles and wait for night and watch the northern light. There were 5 adults in our group and we were very comfortable.

Que puis-je dire sur Lillevik ? Cela a été un coup de coeur. Pas en la louant, mais en la découvrant…Encore plus belle que ce à quoi je m'attendais. Les iles Lofoten ont cette magie, Viking sans doute, ce mystère mêlé à une nature d'une telle beauté…Lillevik a quelque chose de tout cela. Bien entendu j'avais vu les images, les vues me semblaient époustouflantes, la maison me paraissait charmante et perdue dans un océan de nature, à 3600km de moi, un lieu parfait pour se remettre les idées en place, et voyager en tête à tête avec ma fille de 14 ans et demi, et découvrir les Lofoten.En fait, tout est mieux en vrai. La lumière, les montagnes, la mer de Norvège à vos pieds…tout est absolument magique. Jusqu'au silence. Et si vous ajoutez à cela la gentillesse de Christian…quelles vacances !!

Hello, The house is stunning. De vieuws are so wonderful. Everything we needed was in the house and even more. We loved the fact that there were the first cooking necessities. There are two binoculars and books. The sitting room is very cosy decorated,and there is fire place. We were in your house with our 5 adult childeren and they loved it too. We were so lucky that the weather was good and sunny so the evenings en nights were very bright and sunny even. What a experience. I hope we once come back to the beautiful Lofoten Islands and to your beautiful home. Kind regards fam. Odenhoven

Unikt og vidunderlig hus
Dette må være det koseligste og fineste utleiehuset i hele Lofoten. Man føler seg utrolig velkommen, huset er pusset opp og gjennomtenkt til den minste detalj og det ligger helt fabelaktig til. Panoramautsikt fra alle steder i hele huset. Pulsen går definitivt ned. Masse mulighet for minnerike fjellturer både på Gimsøya og nordover/sydover i Lofoten. Rett ved en av de fineste strendene i Lofoten, hvor det også er sauna, hester og golfbane. Denne anbefales virkelig!!
House for the Soul
Lillevik takes you on a journey. A journey that gives you a feeling of freedom. Astonishing window views contribute to this feeling. Lillevik let us sparkle : the colours inside the house let you feel alive. And the eye for details are amazing. It is wonderful that in the renovation the authenticity has been preserved. The furniture becomes one with Lillevik. A waffle iron present so we bake fresh vafler for breakfast. We felt so at home, everything is perfect! Just sit and relax , enjoy the view ! And use the binoculars. It is located on a good spot, you can easily reach nice beaches or a place to drink a good coffee. All the information is available in the housebook. We will be back!
Lillevik Lofoten
Very nice an cosy renovated Rbnb, Very clean. The area and the view around the house are also amazing . if we come back, we would be happy to come back here. We appreciated the book of 60 pages with a lot of very practical information, thank you very much for this stay.
Lovely Airbnb
The best Airbnb I've ever stayed in! Excellent, modern, renovated house for 2-8 people. Fantastic view to the sea and to the north for the Aurora. Lovely living and dining room with a fireplace. Good adjustable heating. Internet connection is fast enough for movie streaming. Well equipped kitchen. Modern washing machine and dryer in the basement. Will definitely stay here again!
